We’ve been having so much fun making all these banners and cards, that we decided to make a Patriotic Freedom Banner for the Fourth of July. This one is similar to the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day banners, but this time we created triangle-shaped pennants for each letter of the word “FREEDOM.”
The beautiful alphabet letters are from Granny Enchanted (you really have to visit her if you are looking for alphabet letters for your projects!), and everything was created in shades of red, white, and blue. The little half-circle accordion pleated bunting shapes were fun to make, and everything else was created using scraps of paper and ribbons, a few cut-outs from Granny Enchanted, and a handful of vintage buttons.
If you would like to make your own Patriotic Freedom Banner, please check out the upcoming July issue of the Ruby for Women magazine, or check back here tomorrow for the complete tutorial. The best part of this project is that it can be made with stuff you already have on hand and it doesn’t take long at all. So gather the kids around and pull out the materials to make your very own Patriotic Freedom Banner and celebrate God’s gift of freedom and liberty.
