Father’s Day DIY Banner Card Tutorial

Father's Day BannerYou still have time to make this beautiful banner card for Father’s Day with the FREE tutorial here at Vintage Mama’s Cottage! We had so much fun making this card with bits and pieces of scrap book paper, ribbons and rick-rack, vintage buttons and other miscellaneous ephemera we had out in the studio.

Father’s Day is often a challenging time to find a gift that is just right for Dad or Grandpa, and often times our guys already have all of the sox, ties, or wallets that they need . . . . so unless you are planning on buying Dad a new grill or a lawn  mower or a speed boat, you might be looking for something a bit less expensive!

A handmade card will let him know that you were really thinking of him on his special day, and it will be a gift that he can display on his desk or book shelf (or in our situation, on a shelf  in his work shop out in the garage!). This project is a great way to get the kids involved in making something for Dad, too! You could make this banner card with a vintage theme in masculine colors, or you could do one that is more kid-friendly in bright, primary colors.

Or make one all in shades of blue, or greens, or even red, white, and blue. Then, use up scraps of paper and scrap book or sewing embellishments, along with the letters (you can find FREE alphabet letters at http://www.grannyenchanted.com), and then just add glue!

These banner cards can be made for any season or occasion and they truly do send a message of love to your chosen recipient. Check out the FREE tutorial HERE and make your very own Father’s Day Banner Card, designed and created at Vintage Mama’s Cottage.
