Finally flying

Broken wingThis quote is from a song that was recorded several years ago by Martina McBride, a country musician with an amazing voice. I loved this song because it reminded me, at a very difficult time in my life, that even when we are wounded, we can still carry on with life.

Many years have passed since that time, but life is never perfect. Even on the best of days, there are moments when the memories continue to haunt me. I’m thinking that most everyone has days like that, so I know I’m not alone. This past year has had its share of ups and downs, and I’ve found myself occasionally rather paralyzed by uncertainty, fear, and confusion.

With a new year comes new opportunities to try again. To fly again. And with our family motto for the year, “No excuses!,” I’m making a determined effort to keep my eye on the sky, and even with a broken wing I plan to pursue my dreams. It’s time to get busy flying! How about you? Are you pursuing your dreams? Don’t let a broken heart, or a broken wing, keep you from flying and discovering God’s try purpose for your life.

After having the January sickness that shows up every year right after the holidays, we are finally almost back to normal, so I’m looking forward to a productive week and plan to join in the fun of the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop. Hope to see you there!
