Another tutu! This one is made from glittery pink and silver tulle, hand-tied onto a silver ribbon sash that ties in the back. In between the strips of pink and silver tulle I tied pink and silver ribbons. So simple yet so sweet!
Little Miss Wren is having a birthday party in September so we’ll be making her a Woodland Fairy tutu, and she asked for pink and purple with “a little bit of blue and green.” We’ll get busy on that one next week.
While we are busy making tutus, it is the perfect opportunity to write up a tutorial . . . . which is exactly what we are working on these days!
Most of today was spent drawing and scanning, printing and measuring, re-drawing and re-scanning, re-printing and re-measuring pattern templates for our next eBook. Finally finished the pieces for one top, two sizes. Only four more sizes to go and then I can move on to the next project!
So it really was a nice break when we went out after lunch for the tutu photo shoot. Miss Wren was twirling around in her bare feet, skipping and hopping and making silly faces. The sun was shining right in her eyes, but she was a trooper and we would play the game where she would close her eyes really tight, and then as soon as I was ready to snap the picture, she would quick open her eyes and “Click!” Worked pretty good most of the time ;o)
She even was a good sport about standing in the rocks by the picket fence just outside the main doors of the church. Between posing in front of the tree and standing on the chair, Wren was adorable with the pink and silver “pouf” in her beautiful blonde hair and had a smile on her sweet face the whole time I was asking her to look this way and that way; stand up, sit down, and look at the birdie in the tree.
My Girls were coaching her along the way, too . . . . “Put your hand on your hip – no, not that one!” or “Stick one foot out to the side – now stick the other foot out on the other side.” OOPS! Not at the same time, or you will fall down! Hands between your back, out to the side, fly like a birdie, look at Mama, look at the Girls . . . . she just took it all in stride and we were able to get lots of photos of sweet Princess Wren.
She was so excited when we told her we would be making her tutu dress for her birthday party, so I guess I better get busy. Don’t want to let her down, especially now that she LOVES wearing a tutu! We’ll be listing more Glitter Ribbon Tutus and dresses in our Etsy shop, and just in case you want to make one yourself, we’re putting together a simple tutorial with step-by-step instructions. And if we can figure out how to create a video, we might even put together a YouTube tutorials. We’ll be sure to let you know.
