As many of our friends, followers, and readers know, we’ve been working diligently for a long time to learn all of the ins and outs of self-publishing, especially as we have wanted to bring the Ruby for Women magazine to our readers as a print publication. We’ve received so many requests for the magazine to be available in print, that we really were determined to figure all of this out and make it happen. But since my background is in the academic world (as well as in the mommy world), and I have no training in graphic design or publishing, it took a while to turn the corner on the learning curve for this particular project.
We’ve made great progress, but with so much more to learn, and we are really excited to tell the world that the Ruby for Women magazine can now be purchased online HERE: https://www.createspace.com/6274478
Now that we have the first issue in print, we are working on finishing up the June 2016 issue so that it will be available as both a digital document as well as a print publication by June 1st. That’s the goal, anyway! We will have to “tweak” it here and there, and make sure we have just the right number of pages that all fit in the print template – so I remain hopeful that we can get all of that done in the coming week.
In the meantime, I’m also working on filling up our little Etsy shops with the help of our niece, Ashley, who has been truly a gift to our family! She helped me figure out all the details for getting the magazine in print, and she is great at photography and editing the photos of all the Etsy listings.
Today, however, we are painting her bedroom and getting her all settled in her own little space . . . . and then we are going to paint the studio, Annie’s bedroom, the dining room, the living room – well, we’ll just take it one step at a time and eventually we will get there!
