Over the past ten years, I’ve encountered so many people through my online work. Most of them come and go; they appear at moments when there are two hearts striving for similar goals but eventually drift off to other pursuits and responsibilities. Very few of the people we “meet” through our internet activities become “friends” – but those who do are truly a gift from God!
One such friend came into my life about five years ago, and over those years we have truly connected in ways that seem hard to believe, especially considering we have never actually “met” in person. We’ve chatted on various social media sites and community sites; we’ve emailed a million times back and forth about another million things; we’ve even chatted on the phone many times over the years.
It just seems like my dear friend Katherine of Katherine’s Corner has been my next door neighbor most of my life! She has offered advice and encouragement, friendship and support, and now we are even working together on a couple of business projects. She’s the best and I am so grateful for the opportunity to get to know her across the miles, through the years. I look forward to many more years of friendship with Katherine.
If you haven’t “met” Katherine yet, you really should take a minute to visit her at Katherine’s Corner. You’ll love her, too!
A week or so ago, when I was right in the midst of a crazy, hectic, overwhelming, exhausting, and discouraging time, a little gift box appeared in my mail box. It was from Katherine. Inside was this beautiful embroidered and ruffled hand towel, a sweet card, and a package of sun dried tomatoes! They are so spicy and yummy . . . . couldn’t take a picture of them because they are gone already! But I just had to share with all of our bloggy friends what a generous, loving, kind-hearted and truly wonderful person Katherine is. You’ve just got to meet her!
Come on over for the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop at Katherine’s Corner . . and tell her that Vintage Mama sent you ;o) She’ll know what you’re talking about – and make a new friend while you are out and about in the big ol’ blogosphere!
