Thursday Favorite Things: Getting Stuff Done!

NarniaSnowed in . . . . again. I’m trying to be as positive as I can, even though this is really quite enough of winter! Looking for the silver lining to all these snow clouds is challenging at best, and downright frustrating most of the time. Not only did we get another 6″ of snow last night and today, it is heavy  and wet snow that sticks to the trees and power lines. Fortunately we didn’t lose power; that might have pushed me right over the edge into the Land of Narnia.

At which time I would have become the White Witch and turned everyone into stone statues. It would have just added insult to injury if the power had been zapped – I get a day to stay home and work on all kinds of (frequently) neglected projects, and then not be able to do those things, and I would have been cranky, indeed.

As it turned out, however, the lights flickered a few times this morning around 6:30 while I was wandering around trying to figure out which of my gazillion projects to do first, but they never went out completely. So, with my lengthy To Do list in hand, and the girls curled up with a book and / or video, a fluffy pillow and fuzzy blanket (far enough away from each other so they didn’t argue all day long), I started down my list.

Yes, we are hoping to move our little family a few miles closer to the girls’ school and my office, so that when I need to pick Gracie up from volleyball practice, or track practice, or choir or band; and when I need to take Annie wherever it is she will decide to go once she gets into middle school, I won’t be spending quite so much of my life in a car. That will also give me a bit more time to work on all that other stuff on my To Do list!

Fullscreen capture 1102014 91807 AMToday started out to be a potentially exasperating day, but in the end, I really did get a LOT of “stuff” accomplished. For that I am grateful, and find that it qualifies for one of my Thursday Favorite Things. Please join us this week for the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop, sponsored by Katherine’s Corner. I would love to see what your favorite things are this week!

I can relate. We do a lot of car time when the weather gets warmer.

I’m visiting today from Thursday’s Favorite Things. Thanks for hosting!

Oh, yes! The snow and cold weather just keeps hanging on, doesn’t it? We have the same issues here, where I live. Spring, as usual at this time of year, is going to be such a welcome event!! Praying all goes smoothly, as you start the process of moving to a new location! Blessings, Ann @ Cairn Cottage

I’m so glad it’s the first day of spring. I live in Northern Indiana too, and this winter has been wicked. Hope you have a great day!

I hear you on the snowed in bit. We’ve had quite a bit of snow this year (for us). Power went out once for five days. That was a BIG pain. And as it’s the first day of spring (that is today, isn’t it?), hopefully your snow won’t last too long!
